TM-B honored with two Fast Company 2026 Innovation by Design Awards.

One bike. Two sides of the design story.

We are excited to announce that Fast Company has recognized the ALSO TM-B in two categories in its 2026 Innovation by Design Awards: Product Design and Transportation Design.

We love this combination because it gets at what we set out to do with TM-B from the beginning: design a great product and rethink what an e-bike can do as a form of everyday transportation.

Now in its 15th year, Innovation by Design recognizes designers and businesses solving today's most important problems while keeping an eye on what comes next. This year's class includes honorees from Google, Adidas, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, among more than 300 projects, products, and services.

"We set out to build the world's best e-bike in the TM-B. Our goal was to bring the magical and seamless experience from the best EVs, like Rivians, into this category. Fast Company's recognition is a wonderful validation of our approach and the incredible combination of design and technology that the TM-B represents," said Chris Yu, Co-Founder and President of ALSO.

Product Design: Rethinking how an e-bike works.

At the center of TM-B is DreamRide, ALSO's pedal-by-wire propulsion system. With no direct mechanical connection between pedaling and the rear wheel, software defines the ride experience instead of a fixed set of gears.

That software can flatten terrain automatically, enable a curated workout, and create many more unique experiences, with up to 10 levels of pedal assist.

The modular Top Frames extend that thinking to how the bike is used. They swap in seconds, without tools, between configurations for commuting, carrying cargo, or bringing along a passenger. A hi-res Portal touchscreen puts navigation, Ride Modes, and connectivity at the rider's fingertips.

Transportation Design: One bike, more trips.

TM-B was also designed around a bigger question: How many everyday trips really require a car?

The same bike that gets you to work Monday morning can carry cargo or help with the school pickup that afternoon, then take you on a long ride Saturday.

That versatility is central to how we think about small electric vehicles at ALSO. Instead of designing around a single use case, the TM-B was designed to adapt to more of the trips people actually make.

Fast Company's Innovation by Design honorees were selected by a panel of designers, business executives, and Fast Company editors.

As Fast Company Editor-in-Chief Brendan Vaughan put it:

"The Innovation by Design Awards have always recognized the ideas that challenge convention and show what's possible when design is treated as a strategic force, not an afterthought.
