Our Privacy Policy has recently changed.

This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) details the privacy practices of Also, Inc. and its directly and indirectly held subsidiaries (“Also,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read below and learn how we collect, use and share your information through a variety of digital means, including any of our websites (including ridealso.com), social media pages, marketing activities and other activities that link or refer to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”).

Please read this Policy carefully. If any term in this Policy is unacceptable to you, please do not use our Services or provide us with any personal information.

In this Policy, when we talk about “personal information,” we mean any information that is related to an identified or identifiable natural person.

This Policy does not apply to any products, services, websites, mobile applications, or content (including advertising) offered by third parties or that may be linked to or from the Services. Data collected by these third parties is covered by their own privacy policies.

1. Personal information we collect

Information you provide to us. We may collect personal information that you provide to us when you use our Services or interact with us. For example, we may collect information when you browse through our websites, register or create an account, make an information request, or when you otherwise interact with us and provide your information via our Services. Personal information you may provide to us through the Services or otherwise includes:

  • Contact data, such as your first and last name, salutation, email address, phone number, and billing and mailing addresses.

  • Communications data based on our exchanges with you, including when you contact us through the Services or otherwise.
  • Marketing data, such as your preferences for receiving our marketing communications and details about your engagement with them.

  • Employee and job applicant information if you are an employee or have applied for a job or other position with us. We may also collect employment information such as your name, resume/CV, educational background, language and other skills, work experiences, and job references.   • Other data not specifically listed here, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.

Automatic data collection. We, our service providers, and our business partners may automatically log information about you, your computer or mobile device, and your interaction over time with the Services, our communications and other online services. Information we automatically collect about you includes data such as:

  • Device data, such as your computer or mobile device’s operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, browser type, screen resolution, RAM and disk size, CPU usage, device type (e.g., phone, tablet), IP address, unique identifiers (including identifiers used for advertising purposes), language settings, mobile device carrier, radio/network information (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE, 3G), and general location information such as city, state or geographic area.
  • Online activity data, such as pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page or screen, the website you visited before browsing to the Services, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times and duration of access, and whether you have opened our emails or clicked links within them.
  • Communication interaction data such as your interactions with our email, text or other communications (e.g., whether you open and/or forward emails) – we may do this through use of pixel tags (which are also known as clear GIFs), which may be embedded invisibly in our emails.

Cookies and similar technologies. Some of the automatic collection described above may be facilitated by the following technologies:

  • Cookies, which are small text files that websites store on user devices and that allow web servers to record users’ web browsing activities and remember their submissions, preferences, and login status as they navigate a site. These technologies help us speed up your future activities and improve your experience by remembering the information that you have already provided to us. Cookies used on our sites include both “session cookies” that are deleted when a session ends, “persistent cookies” that remain longer, “first party” cookies that we place, and “third party” cookies that our third-party business partners and service providers place. Third parties operating on our behalf may use these technologies to provide us with anonymous data and information regarding the use of our Services.   • Local storage technologies, like HTML5, that provide cookie-equivalent functionality but can store larger amounts of data on your device outside of your browser in connection with specific applications.

Web beacons, also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs, which are used to demonstrate that a webpage or email was accessed or opened, or that certain content was viewed or clicked. Information we collect from other sources. We may collect personal information about you from our subsidiaries and our partners and their service providers and contractors. We also may obtain information you have made publicly available, including from websites and online services you use, consumer research platforms, and/or business contact databases.

 

2. How we use your personal information

We may use your personal information for the following purposes or as otherwise described to you at the time of collection:

Service delivery and operations. We may use your personal information to:

provide, operate, and improve the Services and our business;

communicate with you about the Services, including by sending order updates, Services-related announcements, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;

provide support for the Services, and respond to your requests, questions, and feedback.

Marketing and advertising. We and our service providers may collect and use your personal information for direct marketing purposes, including by sending you direct marketing communications and personalizing these messages based on your interests. You may opt-out of our marketing communications as described in Section 4, “Your choices,” below.   

Service improvement and analytics. We may use your personal information to analyze your usage of the Services, improve the Services, improve the rest of our business, help us understand user activity on the Services, including which pages are most and least visited and how visitors move around the Services, as well as user interactions with our emails, and to develop new products and services.

Compliance and protection. We may use your personal information to:

comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas, investigations or requests from government authorities;

protect our, your or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims);

audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements or our internal policies;

enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Services; and
prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft. 

With your consent. In some cases, we may specifically ask for your consent to collect, use or share your personal information, such as when required by law.

Cookies and similar technologies. In addition to the other uses included in this section, we may use the Cookies and similar technologies described above for the following purposes:

Technical operation. To allow the technical operation of the Services, such as by remembering your selections and preferences as you navigate the site.

Functionality. To enhance the performance and functionality of our services.

Advertising. To help our third-party advertising partners collect information about how you use the Services and other online services over time, which they use to show you ads on other online services they believe will interest you and measure how the ads perform.

Analytics. To help us understand user activity on the Services, including which pages are most and least visited and how visitors move around the Services, as well as user interactions with our emails. 3. With whom we disclose your personal information

We may disclose your personal information with the following parties and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, in other applicable notices, or at the time of collection. 

Subsidiaries. Between and among Also and our current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other companies under common control and ownership;.

Service providers. Companies and vendors that perform services on our behalf or help us operate the Services or our business (such as hosting, information technology, customer support, email delivery, marketing, advertising, fraud prevention, consumer research and website analytics).

Business partners. To business partners to offer you certain products, services, or promotions, including business partners that offer investment services.

Professional advisors. Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, accountants, bankers and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.

Authorities and others. Where required by law, court order, or subpoena if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, applicable law or legal process or where necessary to prevent, detect, or prosecute criminal offenses, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Also or others.

Business transferees. We may disclose personal information in the context of actual or prospective business transactions (e.g., investments in Also, financing of Also public stock offerings, or the sale, transfer or merger of all or part of our business, assets or shares). We may also disclose your personal information to an acquirer, successor, or assignee of Also as part of any merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, and/or in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership.

With your consent or at your direction.

 

4. Your choices

Promotional Emails. You may opt-out of marketing-related emails by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email, or by contacting us. Please note that if you choose to opt out of marketing-related emails, you may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails. 

Marketing Text Messages. If you receive text messages from us, you may opt out of receiving further text messages from us by texting “STOP” to +18669307564 or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel. You are not required to consent to such communications as a condition of purchasing products or services, and you may revoke consent at any time.

Declining to provide information. We need to collect personal information to provide certain services. If you do not provide the information we identify as required or mandatory, we may not be able to provide those services.

 

5. Third-party sites and services

The Services may contain links to websites and other online services operated by third parties. In addition, our content may be integrated into web pages or other online services that are not associated with us. These links and integrations are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. We do not control websites, mobile applications or online services operated by third parties, and we are not responsible for their actions. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of the other websites, mobile applications and online services you use.

 

6. How we protect your information 

We use reasonable security measures designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk.


7. Children

The Services are not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian of a child from whom you believe we have collected personal information in a manner prohibited by law, please contact us. If we learn that we have collected personal information through the Services from a child without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian as required by law, we will comply with applicable legal requirements to delete the information.

 

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the date of this Privacy Policy and posting it on the Services or other appropriate means. Any modifications to this Privacy Policy will be effective upon our posting the modified version (or as otherwise indicated at the time of posting). In all cases, your use of the Services after the effective date of any modified Privacy Policy indicates your acknowledging that the modified Privacy Policy applies to your interactions with the Services and our business.

10. Additional information for residents of other states

For eligible residents of Nebraska and Texas, you may also have rights with respect to the personal information, also known as personal data, that we collect about you. This section supplements this Notice and applies solely to eligible residents of Nebraska and Texas.

Any terms not defined in this section have the same meaning as defined under the Nebraska Data Privacy Act or the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (as applicable). Subject to certain exceptions, if you are an eligible resident of one of these states, your rights may include, depending on your state of residency:

  • Right to Know/Access: You have the right to confirm whether we process your personal information and to access such personal information. You also have the right to obtain your personal information in a portable, and to the extent reasonably feasible, readily usable format that you can transmit without hindrance.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete the personal information you have provided to us or that we have otherwise obtained about you. 
  • Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccuracies in your personal information, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes of the processing of your personal information.
  • Right to Opt Out: You have the right to opt out of the processing of your personal information for the purposes of (i) targeted advertising, (ii) the sale of your personal information, and (iii) profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Please note that we do not engage in such profiling as defined under applicable law, but we may sell or use your personal information for targeted advertising purposes as described in Section 3 “How We Use Your Information.”
  • Right to Appeal: You have the right to appeal our decision with regard to your request to exercise any rights described herein.
