The TM-B is officially an award-winning ebike. And not just any award, either, but one of the toughest, most prestigious accolades in the bike and outdoor industries, the Design & Innovation Award.
Unlike some industry awards, which are won through press releases, pitch decks, and tricked-out brand campaigns, the only way to bring home a Design & Innovation Award is the hard way: through months of rigorous, real-world testing by an independent jury.
Brands from around the world enter the running, from indie newcomers to global behemoths. But only those whose products stand up to real outdoor conditions—and whose design practices genuinely move the industry forward—earn recognition.
The TM-B took home an award in the Urban category. So, what exactly set it apart? Let’s take a closer look at the TM-B design innovations that led the judges to their verdict.
We could stop there, but let’s elaborate. The judges specifically called out DreamRide’s pedal-by-wire drive system, whose cranks and rear wheel are mechanically decoupled. The result, to quote the organization directly, “is an extraordinarily composed ride feel—a true powerhouse with massive torque that remains easy to modulate, precisely controlled and virtually delay-free.”
Bike manufacturers and cyclists have been trying to solve the n+1 conundrum for ages. The TM-B makes true progress toward answering it with swappable top frames that can be exchanged in seconds, converting a laid-back city cruiser into a fully capable cargo bike almost instantly.
Much of the ebike industry has made headway by modifying existing bikes and their components, adding motors and sensors to familiar machines. Instead of iterating on traditional bikes, ALSO chose a different path, reimagining the platform completely from the inside out with the TM-B: a first-of-its-kind system and a major step forward in modern mobility.
The TM-B motor, battery, recuperation, ride modes, safety systems, and software are all designed as one cohesive system, with nothing bolted on as an afterthought. The result? Everything works together in harmony for a more intuitive and composed ride.
The TM-B didn’t win on ideas alone. It won through months of demanding, real-world testing, ridden fearlessly through urban outdoor environments and validated by an independent jury that only rewards what truly delivers.
