May is National Bike Month. That’s right—bikes get their own month. And for good reason.
While our dependency on cars certainly feels like one of life’s inescapable realities, the majority of vehicle trips are under six miles. And if you ask us, that’s prime biking territory.
National Bike Month is a time to spread this message, get more people on bikes, and foster community through local events around the country, including Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 15th.

Walking the walk by riding the bike.
We fundamentally believe that in dense urban environments, anything a car can do, the TM-B can do better. Think about it: no gas, no gridlock, no road rage, no parking nightmares. You can haul gear and kids, breathe fresh air, and cruise through the world at a comfortable pace that loves the challenge of an ETA.
Of course, these ideas are easy to espouse when you're merely talking and writing about them. The real work comes when rubber meets the literal road. So we recently put our beliefs to the ultimate test at Camp ALSO in the Bay Area.

Camp ALSO: Five days, sixteen people, zero cars.
As we gear up to launch the Test Spin program in ten cities nationwide, the team responsible for bringing ALSO to those cities needed to come together for a week of training and team building. Enter: Camp ALSO, where we used the TM-B to transform what could've been a dreadful Bay Area commute into an epic adventure on bikes.
To reach camp, a group of 16 new ALSO teammates departed Palo Alto together on TM-Bs, rode north with the bikes on public transit, then coasted onto a ferry bound for Sausalito before making it to their destination in Mill Valley, 47 miles north of their original starting point. The goal? See what magic can unfold when you put a team of near strangers on bikes—with no cars—together for a week.
What happened next was a pure demonstration of the ALSO philosophy in action.
Five days of microadventures, fresh air, connection, and exploration. Maybe not as far as a truck, or as fast as a car, but deeper, intentional, and a thousand times more sensory. The mission was a success, and the team returned feeling energized and ready to bring the new ALSO Test Spin program to ten cities nationwide, starting this month.

The tech that makes it all possible.
There are a lot of barriers—both physical and emotional—keeping folks from incorporating bikes and ebikes into their daily lives, and we’re making it our mission to knock them down by bringing modern EV innovation to the TM-B experience. A few highlights include:
USB-C battery with up to 100 miles of range
0.3G acceleration—the same as a car off the line
Hill-flattening power to take riders up 30% grades
Up to 10 levels of pedal amplification
Built-in navigation, audio integration, turn signals, lights, and anti-theft
Modular solo, cargo, and bench top frames that swap out in seconds at the touch of a button
High-res touchscreen display that connects to the ALSO app
Bringing the comforts of a four-wheeled vehicle to the TM-B doesn't just level the playing field—it makes biking the obvious choice.

Test Spins are coming.
National Bike Month is full of stories like Camp ALSO: choosing a bike to do a car's job, finding yourself pleasantly surprised, and imagining a life full of everyday adventures, big and small.
Keep an eye out for upcoming Test Spins near you to try the TM-B and experience this transformation firsthand. In the meantime, lock in your own adventure and reserve your bike now for a fully refundable $50.
